This is the first time i saw the macrophages. These cells are protecting immune cells or our body. But what happen when these cells become infected. Here left part of the image shows noninfected cells and right part of the images display cells infected with parasite. It is my first experience to see disease at that basic level.

Juxtaposing my fervor for biology with this intense life-saving process, cardiovascular heart surgery was the start of a new path to pursue my interests and curiosity.

My Bio starts on a wheat farm in Walla Walla, WA, USA. That´s where all our nutrition comes from. It is a dusty business requiring lots of logistic. Did you know that there also our grass seed comes from for our lawns and golf courts??? Photo synthesis is the basis. Analytics is the root to discover. Energy comes from the sun. Politics does not really understand the nature.
If it’s out there, I’ve tried to catch it, culture it, PCR it or nail down its genetic make-up. Birds, mosquitoes, mammals - how cool is to… tell you what a mosquito fed on…take blood, tissue, scat or hair and be able tell the genus, species and gender of the donor. The first time doing PCR is believing in magic and playing with the “toys” is priceless.
This is where my love of biology began. Always being an animal lover, my father bought me an ant farm. I was fascinated how they would dig the tunnels and move about. I was also an avid watcher of National Geographic, Mutual of Omaha, and the Discovery Channel. The rest is history since I am now a Toxicologist.
