Epigenetics

Epigenetic modifications are inheritable changes that are not caused by DNA sequence mutations, and are potentially reversible. These modifications have been shown to alter gene expression and phenotypes. Sigma’s epigenetics portfolio includes products for studying DNA methylation, chromatin modifications and RNA regulation.

The Imprint™ line of epigenetics kits streamline and simplify the workflow for determining DNA methylation using applications such as bisulfite modification, global DNA methylation quantification, and chromatin-immunoprecipitation (ChIP).

Sigma also carries small molecule inhibitors and activators for epigenetics targets, including methyltransferases, histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and histone deacetylaces (HDACs). We offer a broad range of antibodies for epigenetic gene regulation applications, including histone modification, chromatin modification, transcription factors, transcription regulators, RNA regulation and nuclear proteins.
