One of the most rapidly evolving scientific fronts, Stem Cell Reprogramming holds great promise as a tool for discovery in both disease and basic biology.
In the three short years since the emergence of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), the discovery has generated significant enthusiasm within the scientific community and gained great attention beyond it, all amid a swiftly expanding array of scientific publications and discoveries. IPSCs hold great promise for researchers studying cellular mechanisms of cancer, embryonic reprogramming, cellular differentiation, monogenic diseases, epigenetics, genetic polymorphisms, and a host of other areas. Perhaps even more exciting are the clinical possibilities for personalized medicine that these pluripotent cells seem to hold. As with any evolving story, new techniques for induced pluripotency are being explored, new questions are raised, and new challenges are identified on a nearly daily basis. They journey is just beginning, and Sigma is proud to offer innovative tools and solutions to support the iPSC research community!
