The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is an efficient and rapid in vitro method for enzymatic amplification of specific DNA or RNA sequences. Vast amounts of DNA can be generated through a series of cycles involving template denaturation, primer annealing, and extension of the annealed primers. The strands that are synthesized in one cycle serve as a template in the next, resulting in a million-fold increase in the DNA amount after just 20 cycles.
We offer highly tested and optimized products for PCR, our broad portfolio ranges from our novel REDTaq® DNA polymerase to our PCR enhancers. In addition, for whole genome amplification we offer our robust and accurate GenomePlex® Whole Genome Amplification (WGA) product line, which allows the amplification of nanogram quantities of starting material into microgram yields with minimal allele drop out.
