Prizes
One(1)grand prize and three (3) category prizes will be awarded in each of the three different regions: North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific/Latin America.

Winners in the individual categories will receive their choice of an Apple® iPad, a CompoZr® Targeted Integration Kit or free registration to a Sigma Technical Workshop.

The grand prize winners (may be within any category) will receive a CompoZr® Custom Zinc Finger Nuclease as per the product customization guidelines outlined below.

Contestants submitting either a video or image will receive a t-shirt while supplies last.

If a group entry is selected for a prize, it is the responsibility of the winning team to determine how to divide the prize. Sigma-Aldrich Corporation will not supply multiple prizes for members of a team entry.

Prizes may be substituted by other prizes of a similar value at the discretion of the organizing company, depending on availability and geographical restrictions or limitations.

The organizing company will not be held responsible for changes to the prizes caused by circumstances outside its immediate control.

Prizes may not be exchanged for cash, cash equivalents, or other prizes.
Prizes are not transferable.

The judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Sigma-Aldrich reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.

*Sigma-Aldrich will reimburse the winner up to $1500 US dollars for travel and lodging, workshop value is $1,500

Grand Prize: CompoZr Zinc Finger Nuclease product customization guidelines

To use a CompoZr® Zinc Finger Nuclease (ZFN) Award you must be engaged in basic life science research only, i.e. that is neither clinical practice nor clinical trials, and actively employed by an academic, nonprofit or not-for-profit institution, government institution, pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.

Upon winning the award, the following information is required for construction of a ZFN

  • Organism of Interest
  • Goal of your gene editing process
  • Target gene information
  • Intended use of cell line or organism
